MSI has launched a new iteration of its Stealth gaming laptop. The MSI Stealth 15M comes Intel’s new Tiger Lake CPUs and Xe graphics cards. There are some new-age features like Thunderbolt 4.0 and Wi-Fi 6 thrown in the mix too. The MSI Stealth 15M will be available via online channels beginning in October. It will retail at US$1,549 for the base variant.
Although the exact SKUs aren’t mentioned, we can expect the MSI Stealth 15M to be configurable with chips ranging between the Intel Core i5-1135G7 and Core i7-1185G7. The notebook comes with Intel Xe graphics cards by default. Dedicated GPU options vary between an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti and GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q. Additionally, the notebook supports up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM clocked at 3200MHz and 2TB storage via an NVMe SSD.
As its name suggests, the MSI Stealth 15M comes with a 15.6-inch FHD IPS LCD panel with a refresh rate of 144Hz.Thin, but noticeable bezels encompass the screen. There’s an ‘HD Type’ webcam at the top edge, which can record video at 720p 30fps. It is 15.9mm (0.62in) thin and weighs (1.69kg/3.7lb). The notebook keeps the ‘gamer-y’ aesthetic on the down-low, which translates to virtually no RGB. It is available in Carbon Gray and Pure White colors.
The MSI Stealth 15M compact form factor greatly restricts its I/O options and battery size. You get four ports in all: two USB Type-A Gen 3.2, one Thunderbolt 4.0, and one HDMI. The thunderbolt port can also charge the notebook at up to 120W and serve as a display output if needed. However, it comes with a paltry 3-cell 57Wh battery. One would be hard-pressed to get more than a few hours of battery life under gaming loads. Audio options include a 2-in-1 headphone/mic combo jack and two 2W speakers. Wi-Fi 6 functionality is made possible via Intel AX601 and Killer AX1650 antennas. The notebook is also compatible with Bluetooth 5.1.
Today’s announcement of a new Prestige 14 has been joined by a new Prestige 15. The devices are similar, but the Prestige 14 is the more compact and lighter of the two. The Prestige 15 measures 356.8 x 233.7 x 16.9 mm, for reference, and weighs 1.65 kg. While the Prestige 15 is heftier than the Prestige 14, it also has a larger 82 Wh battery, dual DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM slots and two M.2 drive bays.
Like the Prestige 14, the Prestige 15 comes with a choice of the Core i5-1135G7, Core i7-1165G7 and Core i7-1185G7. These processors integrate Intel’s new Iris Xe Graphics. Additionally, MSI has included an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q GPU with 4 GB of GDDR6 VRAM for heavier graphics tasks. The Prestige 15 has two Thunderbolt 4 ports too, along with two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, a 3.5 mm jack and an IR 720p webcam.
The Prestige 15 also comes with FHD or 4K panels. Both are 60 Hz and IPS-level, but the 4K panel covers 100% of the Adobe RGB colour space. In comparison, the FHD panel only covers 72% of NTSC. The Prestige 15 is expected to be available from October, but pricing remains unknown.
Intel launched the Tiger Lake and the associated Evo platform yesterday, and we’ve seen a slew of new laptop announcements featuring the 11th generation Intel processor including MSI’s own Stealth, Prestige, Summit and Modern series. Apart from the traditional Prestige 14 offering, MSI is also introducing a Prestige 14 Evo edition that adheres to the standards laid out by the new edition of Project Athena.
The Prestige 14 Evo is in many ways similar to the regular Prestige 14. You get CPU options that include the Core i5-1135G7, Core i7-1165G7, and the Core i7-1185G7 all of which feature the new Intel Gen12 Xe LP graphics. Dimensions, port selection, RAM, connectivity, and even the presence of an NVMe PCIe Gen4 SSD are common with the non-Evo version.
The Evo platform mandates are certain minimum spec for the battery life and this is where the Prestige 14 Evo differs from the regular Prestige 14. Both models carry the same 3-cell 52 Wh battery with fast charging support. However, the Prestige 14 Evo uses a 60 Hz 100% sRGB panel that draws just 1 W of power, which makes it highly power-efficient and as a result, can afford longer run times.
And true to the Evo ethos, the Prestige 14 Evo does not feature the discrete NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q GPU and relies solely on the Iris Xe iGPU. Iris Xe should offer a decent boost in graphics performance for creative applications compared to the previous Iris Plus variants. Since there is no discrete NVIDIA graphics on board, the Prestige 14 Evo offers just 65 W charging via USB-C. MSI says that a 15-minute charge should offer up to 1.5 hours of usage on battery and an overall 12 hours of battery life.
Pricing and availability info are yet to be announced.
The iPad Air (2019) has an arguably old-fashioned look, being lumbered with a large chin and forehead so as to accommodate a classic Apple home button. However, this feature does confer the advantage of supporting the OEM’s form of fingerprint authentication, Touch ID, whereas the more expensive Pro variants have sacrified it in the name of thin bezels.
Recent leaks have suggested that its successor, which could be called the iPad Air 4, (or, according to additional rumors, the iPad Air (2021)) may also adopt this slim-border design. It may make sense, especially if the new iPhones also turn out with the same general language. SvetApple has prepared renders that show how such a budget iPad might look.
The results do look a lot like a Pro (albeit more like a 2018 variant than a newer model). It creates a nice effect in the gold, silver and gray colorways imagined for this “Air”. SvetApple projects that the new slim-border display, which has a modern aspect ratio, may be 10.8 to 11 inches in diagonal length.
However, one thing this updated screen does not have is the rumored in-display form of Touch ID. Instead, this security feature is integrated into the power button. SvetApple asserts that this hardware feature will be called the Top Button.
It is located next to one of multiple speakers that is mirrored on the opposite side of the purported device’s flat edge. The “new iPad Air” is also depicted as supporting USB type C charging and syncing and as having connectors for a Magic Keyboard.
Otherwise, the iPad Air 4 is thought to be graced with the A14 Bionic chipset when it comes out, rather than an older Apple SoC. However, it may have just 4GB of RAM with a 128GB internal storage option. This complete package may start at US$499 and range upwards to $649. SvetApple speculates that it will launch on September 8, 2020.
The back of the Samsung Galaxy A21s is a real looker: The rainbow effect, which appears when light hits the back, looks very impressive. The 200-Euro smartphone also has other selling features as we have discovered in our review of the Galaxy A21s.
These are the great battery life, the SoC that does not throttle under load and unusually fast Wi-Fi. The smartphone does feature a famous Samsung OLED screen. However, its display is still pretty bright and colour-accurate. That being said, there are no tools for calibration.
These positive aspects are quickly drowned out by the negatives. Samsung uses its own SoC (Exynos 850), and Samsung processors have not been particularly energy-efficient in the past.
And this is, unfortunately, the case with the Samsung Galaxy A21s: A different SoC would have been able to achieve longer battery runtimes with a 5000-mAh battery, the web pages load so slowly that the fast Wi-Fi speeds make no difference and users will have to wait for a long time for an application to start or a level to load.
This is why the Samsung Galaxy A21s cannot keep up with smartphones from Xiaomi or Huawei that offer a much better price-to-performance ratio. Moreover, the A21s also struggles with geolocation. On the flip side, though, the smartphone can easily be purchased from various online retailers at discounted prices, and if you come across a really good deal, then the Galaxy A21s is definitely worth consideration.
The quad-camera system, whose main lens produces really good photographs, is one of the key selling features. You can find test photographs and more in our comprehensive review of the Samsung Galaxy A21s.
A new patent has surfaced online that hints at a touchscreen Apple MacBook could be in the making. The patent is filed under the US Patent No 20200019367 titled “Cross-Device Interactions.” In one of the descriptions, Apple explicitly mentions touchscreen laptops. It stated that “in some embodiments, display 5012 is also a touch-sensitive display,” moreover, it adds that “in one or more of such embodiments, the user optionally performs a variety of finger inputs over display 5012 to enter user inputs via display 5012,” Apple Insider reported recently.
As seen in the patent description, the screen is described as “a touch sensitive display” and the user can choose “a variety of finger inputs over display” depending on their purpose.
The touch display can be used for various functions and commands.
Earlier, Craig Federighi the senior Vice President of Apple said the company has decided against producing a touchscreen Mac.
“We really feel that the ergonomics of using a Mac are that your hands are rested on a surface, and that lifting your arm up to poke a screen is a pretty fatiguing thing to do,” he said. “I don’t think we’ve looked at any of the other guys to date and said, how fast can we get there?”

Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro phones are the Chinese giant’s next-gen flagship P-series phones set to launch in 2020. The phones should see upgrades in their cameras, processors, and displays at the least. The Huawei P-series phones have developed a reputation for its superior camera performance, and the Huawei P30 series launched this year was on top of the DxoMark list for a significant time. The successors Huawei P40 and Huawei P40, sadly won’t have Google’s apps and services on board, a drawback due to the ongoing US-China trade war.
While the official launch is still to happen, a host of details about the Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro is already known. There’s also a rumoured Huawei P40 Pro Premium Edition variant in the offing. Here’s everything we know about the two phones so far.
Huawei P40, Huawei P40 Pro release date
Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro exact launch date is not known, but CEO Richard Yu confirmed in an interview that the phones will launch sometime in March 2020. The Huawei executive also mentioned that the Huawei P40 series phones will feature a remarkable new design, and will offer improved performance and photography experience compared to their predecessors. There’s also a possibility that the Huawei P40 Lite be launched alongside the two phones, and this is reported to be nothing but the rebranded version of the Huawei Nova 6 SE launched earlier this month. However, recent rumours suggest that the Huawei P40 Pro Premium Edition will be launched alongside. This will be the most premium variant of the lot, and will sport five rear cameras and support 10x optical zoom.
Huawei P40, Huawei P40 Pro price (expected)
While there is no information regarding the price of the Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro as of yet, it should fall in the same range as the Huawei P30 series, or maybe be priced slightly more. To recall, the Huawei P30 was launched with a price tag of EUR 799 (roughly Rs. 62,200), whereas the P30 Pro will retail starting EUR 999 (roughly Rs. 77,800) for the 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage model. The 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage variant of the Huawei P30 Pro comes at EUR 1099 (roughly Rs. 85,600) and EUR 1,249 (roughly Rs. 97,300) for the 8GB RAM/ 512GB storage option. The Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro should sport unique gradient back panel finishes, but exact colour options are not known yet. The exact pricing of the Huawei P40 Pro Premium Edition is not known yet, but it should be the most expensive of the entire series.
Huawei P40, Huawei P40 Pro specifications (expected)
The phones should run on Android 10 based on EMUI skin on top, and should feature dual-SIM slots as well. As mentioned earlier, the Huawei P40 series will integrate Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) core on-board, which means they won’t come with Google’s suite of apps and services. A recent leak suggests that the Huawei P40 will come with an ‘Advanced Horizontal Display’ and a pill-shaped cut-out for multiple selfie cameras. If true, this is a considerable upgrade from the waterdrop-style notch seen on the Huawei P30.
The leak also suggests that the Huawei P40 will sport a 6.57-inch full-HD+ or 2K AMOLED display with DCI-P3 and HDR support, however a separate report claims that the size of the display should max out at 6.1-inch to 6.2-inch. The Huawei P40 Pro variant, on the other hand, is expected to sport curved edges on all sides that measures 6.5-inches to 6.7-inches. It is tipped to have a unique metal fold on all the edges that protects the display from falls.
The phones should be powered by the latest HiSilicon Kirin flagship processor. The cameras on the phones, based on recent leaks, suggest that the Huawei P40 will sport a triple rear camera setup, while the Huawei P40 Pro should sport quad cameras at the back. The Huawei P40 Pro Premium Edition should offer a penta camera setup at the back.
Noted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that the Huawei P40 Pro will come with 10x optical zoom support. It will feature a 8-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with a large aperture of f/4.0. He reportedly explains that Huawei will achieve this 10x zoom feature by using two mirrors and a prism inside the camera of the Huawei P40 Pro, instead of just the prism on the predecessor Huawei P30 Pro that comes with a 5x zoom lens. If true, the Huawei P40 Pro will be the first phone in the world to come with 10x optical zoom. This 10x optical zoom feature is reported to arrive on the Premium Edition variant as well.
A recent report also suggests that the Huawei P40 Pro will be equipped with a 52-megapixel image sensor with 1/1.33-inch size that will be custom designed by Sony. This sensor will be equipped with a unique Quad Quad Bayer technology that features a 16-in-1 technology. The report says that the camera does two 4-in-1 conversations to achieve the 16-in-1 stage, and this sensor will be useful to shoot video and photos in very dark conditions.
As for colour options, a fresh report says that the Huawei P40 Pro will come in five colour options – Black, Blush Gold, Silver Frost, Deep Sea Blue, and Ice White. The Huawei P40 is reported to come in the same options as the Pro variant. The Huawei P40 Pro Premium Edition has been leaked to sport ceramic finishes in black and white.
The phones should have a glass back panel, support a USB Type-C port, and come with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The phones are reported to not come with 3.5mm audio jack support. More details on the phones should be revealed as the launch date nears, and we will keep updating this copy as and when something crops up online.
